The Celebration of the 87th Birthday Anniversary of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej of Thailand on 5 December 2014

On 3 December 2014, the Royal Thai Embassy hosted vin d’honneur on the auspicious occasion of the 87th Birthday Anniversary of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej of Thailand and National Day of Thailand (5 December 2014), at Hyatt Regency, Kathmandu. Right Honourable Paramananda Jha graced the function as the Chief Guest. Over 400 guests including high ranking officers from the Government of Nepal, Ministers, Head of Diplomatic Missions in Nepal, prominent businessmen, and Thai community participated in the said function. The Embassy also organized

the musical show (saxophone quartet) from the Chulalongkorn University which they had performed three selected musical pieces composed by H.M. the king of Thailand at the opening ceremony and also brought two instructors from Rachamongkol University to perform Thai’s fruit and vegetable carving as well as to perform Thai dessert cooking, such as Khanom-Buang for the honorable guests at the venue of the function.


On 5 December 2014, the Royal Thai Embassy and the Royal Thai Monastery, Lumbini, organized various activities to celebrate the 87th Birthday Anniversary of His Majesty the King in Lumbini. In the morning, the religious ceremony was held in front of the Maya Devi Temple which various international monks from Buddhist monasteries in Lumbini, namely, Thai, Japanese, Korean, Vietnamese, Chinese, Nepalese, Burmese, and Tibetan monks separately prayed for His Majesty`s long life and good health followed by the Luncheon Programme hosted by Royal Thai Embassy and Royal Thai Monastery to thank for the cooperation from various Monks, LDT’s officers and another officers from Lumbini and nearby district which 50 person attended the programme at Lumbini World Peace and Harmony Visitor Center. The candle lighting ceremony took place in the evening to offer best wishes for His Majesty the King at the Royal Thai Monastery Lumbini which 65 persons including Ambassador, the Embassy staffs and Thai pilgrimages attended the said programme.
